Real Life and Second blended this Saturday morning at the Memorial held in the Dreams sim For The Sojourner. The sim was filled ! At one point there were 120 avatars present.
The setting was carefully arranged to accommodate the many avatars that arrived one after one .
A lovely song was sung to open the remembrance.
The scene was one of both sorrow and but also joy as her many colleagues and friends gave tribute to the remarkable woman. Pathfinder Linden spoke of her real life background and entry into Second Life. It was an extraordinary life in both worlds.
Minxeh Volos spoke of her dedicated work to provide for all the members of the Dreams community and Shockproof with the support Jase Byrne noted in his eulogy “: I think she’s in San Fran standing over the Dreams servers with a crescent wrench going : DON'T YOU DARE CRASH!”
Golda Stein , a close friend spoke of her real life accomplishments , and her love of helping people in sl regardless of who they were.
Many others added anecdotes of their memories of time spent with The Sojourner that brought laughter and tears to all those there including this reporter who only met The Sojourner twice.
Pathfinder Linden, who brought this remarkable woman to Second Live, said of her legacy, “ I have seen many communities in SL. this one is the most special. it is alive with hope and caring and love. and by being there for other people, by helping each other and helping Dreams continue, Soj will continue to touch people. every day.”
Many others added remembrance of her friendship, sense of humor, and talked of her lovingly. It was an extraordinary life in both worlds and the memorial was a fitting tribute to her memory they needed.
