Preview - Eric & The Adams in the Studio

Eric & The Adams are back in the studio recording in Nashville, in preparation for the release of the very first Eric & The Adams disk! I just can't wait.

And the lovely Angel Adams left a message on YouTube as they were loading up to head back to Tulsa. After reading her Tweets and posts for so long, it was nice to hear a voice!

Eric & the Adams are looking to raise some funds to complete the EP, and you can help out by going through the official website here. With a donation of $20 or more, you will receive an advanced SIGNED copy of the EP, so consider it a pre-order! It also qualifies you to be in a drawing to win an Apple iPod Touch - I have one and love it! If you prefer Twitter, all three have accounts and log on throughout the day, so click on @eric_himan, @angelsadventure, and @musicjunky11 to get your daily fix.

Eric HIman,Blog

It is no secret I am a big Eric Himan fan, so I figured I would give myself this little treat - Eric singing his own song, Bartender, and covers of Umbrella and Bleeding Love.

Go Eric! Damn, I need to see him performing live again soon.

Touring - Eric Himan

Eric Himan is in the midst of touring, and he better drag is ass to my area soon. After all, it is coming up on a year since I've heard that gorgeous voice. And it will also give me a chance to try to bribe him to get an advanced copy of the single from Eric & The Adams that Eric, Angel & Jimmy have been talking about on Twitter, but not sharing... Speaking of which, once Eric does head East, maybe he will bring the Adams along for a rockin' great show!

The following are the confirmed dates I have so far for the tour. If you live in the area of one of the shows, get to it. You won't regret it.

Sep 18: Seattle, WA - The Crescent
Sep 19: Portland, OR - Mississippi Pizza
Sep 24: Des Moines, IA - Ritual Cafe
Sep 25: Cedar Rapids, IA - Evocative Sounds House Concert
Sep 26: Minneapolis, MN - Wilde Roast Cafe
Oct 10: Jackson, MS - Hal and Mal's

Live Music - Eric & the Adams

Eric Himan, Angel Adams, & Jimmy Adams

This past weekend, Eric & the Adams played at D-Fest 2009 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. From the look and sound of the video, they set the town on fire! So great, they were asked to sign the guitar to hang in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in the Tulsa.

Next stop on their tour is Kansas City, Des Moines, and Chicago this weekend. You can go to their website for updates and schedule for the future.

Great Music - Eric & The Adams

Eric & the Adams

In my attempt to make Eric & The Adams realize I will openly weep if they don't make it to my area someday, I thought I would add another little plug for myself. What can I say, I am like that, I am indeed that selfish.

Angel Adams, Jimmy Adams & Eric Himan

The band is lead singer Eric Himan with drummer Angel Adams and her brother, Jimmy Adams on bass. This was recorded live in January of this year, and I still watch it because I think it rocks. It is Uncomparable, which sounds very much like Nothing Compares 2 U, at least to my ears. But what do I know? I am just a fan who is lucky enough to have no orders of protection written out on me. My Life Is A Song Title

OK, after seeing both Bob & Michael Rivers do this, I figured I would give is a try. Instead of diva-licious music (Diana Ross & Cher, respectively), I am going for one of my indie boys - Eric Himan. Not only do I love his music, but he also has lots of it - I should know, I have bought it all! - making it easier to have a list for the questions (and I am so fricken predicable). And it gives me a chance to run another picture of the adorable boy - because, as I have said before, I am shallow that way.

Are you male or female? – Man You Had In Mind

Describe yourself – I Don't Wait Well

How do you feel about yourself - Habit/Curse

Describe where you currently live – The Outskirts of You

If you could go anywhere, where would you go – Until The Road Unwinds

Favorite form of transportation - In My Shoes

Your best friend is – No Urgency

Your favorite color is – Little Boy Blue

What's the weather like – In The Brown Fog

If your life was a TV show, what would it be called – Throw Away The Past

What is life to you – There's Gotta Be Something

What is the best advice you have to give – We Are The Same

If you could change your name, what would it be – Clyde

Your favorite food – Acquired Taste

Eric and the Adams - Summer Tour Video

eric himan,eric & the adams

Eric Himan tweets: Check out our new video (it took me a bit to make!)

They have also launched a new website. If they are playing in your area, go see them. I will be jealous until they make it to the East Coast and I get to see them live!

Great Music - Eric Himan

Eric HIman,Blog

I have mentioned Eric Himan a couple of times, and so I thought it was about time I stepped up and talked about him. Eric is an amazing artist I have been following for a couple of years. I followed his music long before I caught my first live show, and that just sealed the deal. He is amazing live, sounding every bit as good, if not better. He also has such charm with the crowd, always with a funny tale or a heartwarming story.

I was hooked early on by the song, One Night Stands, a poppy song about the search for love. There was something in his voice, in the phrasing that just grabbed me and has never let go. He has put out seven CDs and an EP of which I am aware, and own them all.

Eric Himan

Some of the highlights include for me, from the eponymous first CD, Pull, owing a debt to the folk roots while adding a healthy dose of the blues. And from I Go On, there is I Ain’t Done With You, a flat-out blues song. Aside from One Night Stands, the Folk/Rock song A Good Good Cry could be found on All For Show, a love song. Dark Horse was full of good stuff, including an incredible cover of Holding Back The Years. One Night Stands is a collection of live performances. On Everywhere At Once, there was the searing rocker, Heart/Clean, offering up the sage words, ‘I’m after a genuine love, so don’t kiss my ass to get my pants undone.’

Next came the EP There’s Got To Be Something, with the song of the same name. Last year, Eric released Resonate, which featured the first release Little Boy Blue as well as The Protest Song, an unapologetic Gay rights anthem.

In the past year, Eric has been doing gigs both as a soloist and as a member of Eric and the Adams, working with an electric sound with the brother/sister duo, Angel and Jimmy Adams.

As I have said before, Eric has introduced me to many artists I still support. The list of his opening acts that I loved include Aiden James and Tom Goss. He is a gift that keeps on giving. You can find out more information at Eric’s website.

Rock Show - Pictures I Have Taken

In preparation for the Tom Goss show I am attending this coming weekend, I revisited some of the pictures I have taken over the last few years. I tend to bring my camera, and for the most part have had no problem getting it to the shows. I love taking the pictures, and they certainly bring back some memories of fantastic shows.
