According to Michael Ausiello of EW.com, GLEE has been renewed!
FROM EW Website: This just in: Fox is on the verge of announcing a full-season pickup for Glee, sources confirm. The show, which has performed solidly in the ratings, initially received a 13-episode order from the network. The back-nine pickup brings the total number of first-season episodes to — I suck at math but I think I’ve got this - 22.
So, this means a full season instead of the half-season as first promised.
I might be the geekiest gay boy evah, but I am truly excited about the first episode of Glee tonight! Honestly, I am practically giggling like a teenage girl here. The premiere episode was sooooo long ago, and I loved it, but making me wait this long was almost criminal! However, to recap that first episode, watch this.
So tonight, at 9PM, we all know I will be glued to the TV, even foregoing my addiction to US Open tennis on ESPN2, to watch this show. Here is a promo for tonight's episode - don't let the next Wednesday night thing confuse you, the promo was aired last week.
Keep in mind I have a bit of a crush on teacher Will, played by Broadway veteran Matthew Morrison. He was in the recent revival of South Pacific, looking stunning.
I am a real fan of the PBS series In The Life. It is a monthly show that deals with life in the gay community. According to the press release, this month, IN THE LIFE explores what it means to grow old as a gay person in America how a generation once at the frontlines of establishing the modern LGBT movement finds, in what should be their golden years, new challenges living life openly gay. ITS ABOUT TIME highlights the leaders spearheading a national effort to protect the rights of LGBT senior citizens and care for our elders.
From L to R: Frances Conroy, Lauren Ambrose, Michael C. Hall, Mattew St.Patrick, Peter Krause, Rachel Griffiths, Freddy Rodriguez and James Cromwell.
On August 21, 2005, Six Feet Under aired the series finale, and the final 10 minutes of the show were, for me, the best 10 minutes of television ever, and certainly the best series finale I have ever seen.
Six Feet Under was an HBO series created by Alan Ball which aired the premiere June 3, 2001. It starred a stellar cast which included Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy, Lauren Ambrose, Freddy Rodriguez, Matthew St. Patrick and Rachel Griffiths. The show was quirky at heart, being the story of a family-run funeral home, and seeing them tackle their demons. While there were plenty of pretty to go around on this show, nothing was quite as lovely as the couple of David & Keith, played by Michael C. Hall and Matthew St. Patrick.
In the last 10 minutes of the series finale, the showed follows through on the lives and death of the lead characters for the next 80 years. The montage is set to the song Breathe Me by Sia as Claire drives cross country to a new job.
It never fails to make me cry, even now as I write this post.
Part of my geekdom that I hold near and dear is my complete adoration of all things Torchwood and Doctor Who [and some Primeval, too - and there is Being Human, a show I am checking out even if it hasn't aired in the States], BBC imports that just keep me coming back. Captain Jack Harkness appears in both series, a supporting character in Doctor Who and the lead in Torchwood. While I had already known of John Barrowman, this certainly heightened my fandom of him.
Season 3 is scheduled to show on BBC America next Monday, July 20, and run for five consecutive nights. It played in the UK this past week. I was eager to find out what will happen next to Captain Jack and his boy-toy, Ianto Jones. Damn, they are a hot couple! Ianto, played by str8 boy Gareth David-Lloyd, is gorgeous. And out actor/singer Barrowman wants lots of him. But this crap about waiting for a year for season 3, and it will be over in a week, just five episodes offered?
I had decided I would wait until next week to see it, because the trailers I had seen were very cool and I thought, I have been waiting this long, why not wait a little more. I mean, sure, they killed off two main people at the end of series 2, but that only left more time to focus on my favorites, so this should be good, right?
But that just wasn't in the cards, as I have no patience and so I found my way to Usenet and downloaded. I watched it this weekend, and it is exceptional. I watched it all weekend long, and was actually crying like a baby at times. It is more intense and darker than the previous shows, but I loved every minute of it. I won't discuss what happened until the show airs, for I am not a font of all things spoilerish.
I have pre-ordered my DVD, to go on the shelf with seasons 1 & 2, which I do watch from time to time. But I have read that there is still no commitment to a fourth season. BBC, don't do this to me. Tell me there will be more Captain jack!
