Created Content at risk again.............

No doubt about it content creators have a lot of risks to face in SL these days and today I was made aware of yet another issue with the permissions system that is in place at the moment.
According to my source this is not a new bug its one the Lindens have been aware of for a long time (yet have not fixed).
My source firstly asked me to provide a NO COPY/ NO MODIFY object, which i dropped on their profile, a few minutes later they gave me 5 copies back - I was still the creator and the original perms had not changed yet - they now had 5 copies of a no copy object!
I won't tell you how it is done (I have recreated it myself) as I think that would do a great deal of harm to content creators already stretched through copiers at work in SL.
I did however go to live chat to see what the Lindens had to say about it:

dana_Vanmoer: I can recreate someone elses no copy no modify object

dana_Vanmoer: the permissions do not change but i can copy an object as many times as i wish regardless of the original permissions

XXXXX: Ok Dana this is actually one we are aware of. Our engineers are working to fix it urgently and we are asking if any creators notice their work being copied they send in an abuse report and a DMCA

dana_Vanmoer: you already know about this?

XXXXX: We do and our engineers are working to fix it as an urgent situation and we have asked people send in dmca and abuse reports.

XXXXX: Is there anything else I can help you with today?

dana_Vanmoer: no but how urgent is urgent this is scary for any content creator?

dana_Vanmoer: The person who told me about this reported it over a week ago

XXXXX: I do understand Dana however as I am not an engineer I can not give a timescale other than to say they are definitely working on it and content creators should know how to send in DMCAs

dana_Vanmoer: they do but DMCA takes a long time

dana_Vanmoer: a week is a long time of having items copied

XXXXX: I do understand Dana however I can not provide any further information than I have already. If you believe your work is being copied contact us and we will absolutely investigate it.

To me this is scary as i sell all my wedding things transferable - no copy - no mod.
Good luck to all content creators I hope linden Lab really are treating this one as URGENT.

Pheonix Rising

My first impression of this place was amazing building! The store above houses Phoenix Rising, Chloƫ, & Nardcotix I had visited Pheonix Rising at Narkissos and also seen some of Ashoka Eales' designs at the show edo hosted recently but decided to have a closer look, I will have to return to visit the other stores at Einstein :)
As a designer I appreciate detail and Ashoka does not disappoint, looking at 'Taste' on the left I was struck by the detail on a black corset that looks fairly simple, to most, but it represents hours of detailed work to make it look simple!
Its more obvious in Resurrection how much work goes into these designs. I love the transparent panels made to work so well with sequin detail.
Also look for extra options some come with extra long trains or different skirt options.
Most of Ashokas designs come in many colours but she does not just design gowns there is also daywear and chic city designs instore, mix and match to find your own look.
Visit today and see for yourself the range at Pheonix Rising.

Introducing - Sweetaholic

Recently I was invited to a Japanese wedding and did not have a kimono well of course I asked Breezes, who is often at Tai Chi and has a lot of kimono's, straight away she recommended 'Sweetaholic' and dropped me a Landmark.
I was stunned at the intricacy of these kimonos they not only have stunning textures but also many include the hair, shoes, skin, shape and even animated accessories!
These are amazing. Not only does Asalt Eames make traditional Kimonos for men and woman but he also makes more modern kimono's which are breathtakingly beautiful.
You can see more images HERE and maybe visit his store to see the selection for yourself.

Market for Relay for Life

The Clothing fair is over and all the designers have gone their separate ways! Which is a shame considering the effort these designers go to to give to the Relay for Life Campaign in SL.
Je'taime thought so too and has come up with the idea of an area dedicated to the designers in SL who just want to give! The market place for life is now open!
When i asked her Mascha Boa one of the organisers said
"The goal is to find a collection of designers from all over the grid who will be asked to offer their latest designs as well as the items that have been available for sometime now. They will also offer old discounted clothes. The aim of the market place is to have available something for everyone with fashions for both men and women, and also every genre imaginable."

Everybody can offer products - RFL donation vendors must be used to do so - this is to ensure that with every purchase 100% of the sale goes directly to the American Cancer Society.

If you are interested in being involved in this great way to both market your Company and helping a great charity, please contact a member of the committee:

I bet you didn't know..............

We have all heard now that Rezzable came to the rescue and have supplied the sims for this years clothing fair, very few know that Callie Cline "designer, writer, model and creative consultant" was the reason for Rezzables involvement. When I heard about it I thought everyone should know and spoke to Callie about it:

Nicky Ree starts to see results from DMCA

After hearing about the numerous thefts suffered by so many fellow designers, I thought to share a little good news with you all, it may not be much but it is a small step and a little good news.
I filed another DMCA against Annejoy Paine of aDiva this year and Linden Lab have checked my DMCA and taken down the 2 items I listed in all the locations in the DMCA.
So do take heart honest content creators and designers, file your DMCA in the correct manner and do not give up, every little thing counts.
