What needs to be in the picture ?
1... The park-bench provided in the box
2... The person sitting or "being" on the couch
3... The person wearing our SLN-fan tshirt with the logo at the front in-sight

Where do you take the picture ?
1... Wherever you want to. Most sweet, cool,dark,sunny, mysterious place you can find. See it as a challenge to blow the judges minds !!!

How do you give us the image ?
1...Email it as JPEG or JPG image to jamestjuno@gmail.com or dana.vanmoer@gmail.com
2...Do not forget to provide us with your full SL avatar name !

Anything else you need to do ?
1... YES ! you have to be a member of the group "SL Newspaper" founded by JamesT Juno when we judge your image(s).
2... There are NO sittingposes in the couch, so you have to figure that one out yourself.

What can I win ?
1... A total sum of 10,000 L$ will be divided amongst the 3 best images. First will get 5,000 - second 3,000 and third 2,000 L$

End of the contest ?
1... Your image has to be in our mailbox before 24th of APRIL 2009 - The winners will get a message and their winning pictures will be posted in the newspaper. Results will be announced within 1 week after the closing-date.

Resident Choice Awards - have you voted yet?

Welcome to the first annual Second Life Resident Choice Awards. Visit the Award site now to cast your votes for your favorite prim food artist, best place to share your first avatar kiss, best Resident blog and a whole lot more. This is your opportunity to tell us what you love about Second Life.

For your convenience, we've included all the award categories on the microsite so you can do your thinking and research in advance. And don't forget, we need your SLURLS so we can direct Residents to your favorite locales, and more importantly, the winners' locations!

Leave your questions and comments below. We're sure you'll have plenty of suggestions about how to do it better next year so have at it. We're looking for category suggestions, voting tools, etc.

The contest runs from March 31 through April 7th so get your votes in asap. Only one vote per avatar will be counted. Winners will be announced on April 17th.

We Challenge YOU!

As many of you know our birthday celebrations are approaching fast (16th - 23rd November), although it has been very much overshadowed by the openspace mess we are still going ahead and hope you will be able to enjoy the festivities planned.
About a year ago I came up with the idea of giving away a free outfit to help new residents and created this one - now this is very popular BUT with the new look sl-newspaper its time for a new more modern look and this is where you come in:
We are challenging all the designers in SL to come up with the new SLN free outfits one for both ladies and gents!
We have 4 contests running throughout the weeks' celebrations and the design contests are a big part of that with up to 75k in cash and prizes to be won.
Can you design the new SLN freebie outfit?
The entries will be shown in a runway fashion show by 'Best of SL magazine' and the winners announced at the prize giving ceremonies on the 21st of November.
Send your entry full perms in a folder named 'Contest ladies' or 'Contest gents', by the 15th of November, no entries will be accepted after this date. You can include a landmark to your store and an information notecard this will be given away with the winning outfits.
