Why Baron Returned: Open Letter.

It has been a year since ‘Baron’ vanished from his private island. True, many people were astonished, some hurt, and others glad that it happened. Speaking for myself, I felt, at the time, it was the only way out of some rather unenjoyable situations. Things had turned sour on many aspects of ‘his life’ and no longer the fun it once was.
I have spoken privately to many people in SL about this for many months, those that know who I am in another form that is. I am aware that many felt….perhaps let down…by my vanishing, despite that I kept contact with many I had become friends with. To those, I apologise again.
To those that take the news thinking…’Oh God…he’s back!!’….don’t. I made some mistakes, for which I and others have paid a heavy price… I have no intentions of doing so again.
I have returned for a few reasons, apart from having paid for ‘Baron’ this past year.

1. I missed writing for the SL Newspaper, it was a huge part of my life, one I hope to restart.
2. Time moves on, and hopefully avi’s can do the same.
3. Lessons learned at great cost are not forgotten easily… nor should they.
4. I feel that after a year, it is time for ‘Baron’ to return to SL and once again take his place in the massive world that is Second Life.

If some people regard my return with trepidation… don’t. Should I have the privilege to write for the SL Newspaper again, it shall be on a general basis, hopefully art related and ‘special’ reports. I have no intention of going back to any prison, regardless of the chances it may give for RP or a ‘Story’.
The Sink Freak is dead and gone, though I admit it was fun at the time.

I only wish to let Baron return. If you do not like the idea, then that is fine… you can ignore me or whatever.. I have no problems with that. Baron is back, a changed man, so please let him have a contented existence.

Mysteries of Life:

Life is full of mysteries, The Marie Celeste, found abandoned on the high seas, with food on the table ready for eating yet no-one onboard the vessel. The wondrous patterns formed on the earth that can only be seen from thousands of feet in the air, yet made by ancient mankind. Lord Lucan, the peer that vanished after a horrible murder. The last one unsolved despite the many so called sightings of the man.
We at the SLN offices also have our own mystery, one that was supposedly a straight forward suicide of a colleague and friend last year. Distraught with grief and anger, many believed he jumped from his island home, into the sea and drowned as a broken man. Indeed a note found on the beach stated he could no longer continue.
There are rumours, however, that sightings of a man very similar in appearance to our ‘late’ friend have been reported. Odd glimpses at strange times of the night. Imagination perhaps of minds remembering a man, wishful thinking on the part of people hoping to put a close to the odd events of last year? Maybe, who knows?
An envelope was found on the reception desk, no note enclosed, just a pair of photographs that pertain to be of our journalist friend.
This reporter will endeavour to trace all those who may have seen, or thought they have seen Baron DeSantis and will place what he is told in print, to let you, the readers make up your own minds.
Is the Baron really gone from this realm or is there some substance to these strange reports?

Baron DeSantis Found On Beach

The lifeless body of Baron DeSantis was today found on the beach of his private island, following a bitter dispute at Ghul Federal Prison. This follows his harrowing divorce by Mattt.

His estate is being handled by a close friend and Baron's last wish is that all have a party to celebrate , not to mourn.

Baron's email address is being kept open, out of respect for what he tried to achieve in improving the penal system in SL.

This note was found by a friend, wrapped in a plastic bag, and has been posted to the newspaper.

He will be missed.

Suspicious absence.

Just a few weeks after marrying Baron DeSantis, it seems that Mattt Guyot has disappeared. Some of us were concerned over Mattts touching belief that there is good in everyone and all Baron needed to change his ways was the love of a good man, but love is blind and, it has to be said Mattt and Baron seemed extremely happy making plans for their future. During their honeymoon, the devoted couple bought a private island ( although how an ex con, poorly paid reporter could afford a private island was not questioned), the location of which is known only to a few. They started work building their retreat, during which a great deal of activity occurred. Foundations dug and filled, helipad constructed for pair’s private helicopter, even a lighthouse placed on a purpose built offshore island.
The couple were often seen visiting the mainland, obviously in love, shopping and finding items for their new life together. Occasionally they could be spotted in private sex clubs, enjoying each other. This may be due to the fact that the house was incomplete, who knows but it was commented that it has never been Matts habit to visit such clubs.
Construction continued until a large, artificial, waterfall was completed. Since then Mattt has not been heard from.
Mattt’s dad InsyX Piranha, concerned about his son’s lack of contact with the family, contacted Baron and enquired as to how his son was. Baron, after a slight pause, explained that Mattt had left to go on holiday but he had stayed behind to supervise the final construction and furnishing of the various buildings on the island. He quickly severed communication after saying that a matter required his personal attention, (Baron was heard to shout at someone unknown “Don’t dig near the f’ing waterfall you damn moron, the cement has not fully cured”), before the line was cut.
Since then, Baron appears to be living the ‘High Life’. He has been seen is some dubious establishments, and also appears to have changed his appearance somewhat. He has attended parties held at pole dancing clubs and, according to a source, was seen to be giving one dancer a large tip, on more than one occasion.
The lighthouse keeper, Neslave Laville, whom Baron DeSantis has employed as part of Neslave’s parole agreement, stated that he had not seen Mr Guyot since taking on the position. As part of his daily duties is to check on the main island for security reasons, he is a regular visitor to the area. He did mention that several weeks ago he had noticed a large gathering of crows near the base of the mountaintop retreat of his employers, but as he had duties to perform at the parole (HWH) camp, did not have time for further investigation. The following day, all appeared normal on his checks.
Due to the past history of Baron DeSantis, though it pains me as a fellow reporter to say it, could there be something more to this? Is Mattt Guyot really on holiday or has DeSantis returned to his previous bloody ways?
On contacting both Ghul and Bay City Police Stations, this reporter was informed that no official “Missing Person’s Report” had been filed. Contacting other Police stations resulted in the same response.
I tried to contact Baron to ask how Mattt was and he shouted down the line at me … “Mattt is on ******* holiday ok?”
Hmmm... interesting response. Am I alone in thinking that it's odd that a newly wed, much in love with their new spouse, should choose to go on holiday alone, in the middle of building the couples much cherished love nest?
Should anyone see or successfully contact Matt Guyot, please inform this reporter so that I may put his family at ease.

Another Murder in the Prision

I arrived back to my office this morning to find a stack of assignments that I have been putting off all week because of the wedding, only to find this had been shoved into the pile. Seems another messenger from the prison made it to the news office.

GHUL FEDERAL PRISON: A comment

This is just a short note to all our readers. It might seem that this reporter has a vendetta against Ghul Federal Prison. This is NOT the case. Far from it. I have made many good friends, amongst inmates and guards, and have many nice memories of my internment there. I simply report what I have seen or am reliably informed about. I do not report on anything that I cannot confirm or have proof on.
Regarding The Beast Of Ghul, well, there is not enough space for me to tell you the full story about him.
Suffice to say, should any of you wish to experience a ‘Prison lifestyle’ then Ghul Federal is the place to do it, I should know, been there long enough.
Obey the rules and you will be fine, just don’t be a ‘Sink Freak’ as I was lol, the Tower is not a place to be.

Baron Convicted

I arrived at the office building this afternoon to find a black car outside. The window rolled down and a large envelope was dangled out by a delicate looking but manly hand. Baron and I, Part Deuce

When my fellow newsies and I had our scheduled meeting, one of the sticking points was Baron DeSantis being in the slammer in Ghul Prison. After IMing him through the cell phone he managed to find, we decided to try to teleport him over. It worked, and he was able to stick with us part of the time, including the group photo in which he sported a collar.
