Relay For Life of Second Life set a new fundraising record

Relay For Life of Second Life set a new fundraising record this year, raising over $270,000. The American Cancer Society and the planning committee would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make this year’s event a success: the teams and corporate sponsors, the venues who put out our posters and donation kiosks, the venues who hosted the team’s fundraisers, the individual fundraisers and everyone who gave during the many fundraising events.

Spirit Of Relay Award 2009

This year the spirit awards were given to two individual that received an overwhelming amount of nominations. This year the spirit award went to the 2009 Chair Fayandria Foley and our mission chair Trader Whiplash. Both of these deserving individuals are cancer survivors themselves and have exemplified the Spirit of Relay for over 4 years by embracing the need to spread awareness of cancer prevention in Second Life.

Spirit of the Relay Day Award for 2009: Awarded to the team and individual that embodies the “Spirit of the Relay”. "Spirit of the Relay" includes an overall performance of the team & Individual, not simply the amount raised. This includes the Relay activities and embodying the One World, One Hope…Relay for Life theme.
