Eye on the blog - new forum discussions

Wow the Lindens are listening and actively taking part in the forums - if you haven't ever see the forums you need to go to http://forums.secondlife.com/ and log in with your secondlife user name and password, then you will be able to join in the discussions.
Its long been considered just a place to let off steam with other like minded Residents as it has been fairly obvious the Lindens had backed off any kind of real communication - look at the JIRA so many issues ignored and not even looked at, on the one hand they ask us to use it on the other is the amount of outstanding issues, but that's another issue.

This time Catherine Linden has invited Residents to take part in discussions in an experiment in communications and "Try out a “live discussion” with us, in the Forums, where we’ll read along and answer questions, for the next 3 days. "

The first discussion will last 72 hours and be on the hot subject of VAT charges:
"First Forum Discussion Topic: VAT
Recently Zee Linden noticed a number of questions about Linden Lab’s charging European Residents VAT, from comments on M’s blog post about his first 60 days at Linden Lab. Zee wanted to answer some of those questions, and so VAT will be our first Forum Discussion topic."

The discussion thread can be found here:
Having a quick look at the discussion in 8 pages I see few responses coming from the Lindens and some very valid points raised by residents, we will have to see if this is a genuine attempt at realistic communication. I guess I am an optimist and I would love to beileve this is a step in the right direction but right now it does not look promising. A new way to get us to let off steam and keep it out of the public eye? That's the cynic in me I guess.

Join in and see what you think yourself.
Dana
