Are you busy on April the 17th?

If not and you have ever lost anyone dear to you then this may be the event for you:

April 17th, 2008
6 am to 11 pm SLT
Have you ever lost an in-world friend? As years pass in Second Life, more residents will have the sad experience of logging in to find that someone they know and love in-world has passed away in Real Life.
The Day of Remembrance is a new community event commemorating the life, spirit, and creativity of all the residents who have left us.
The event is organized around the New Orleans tradition of the Jazz Funeral. Rather than a sad, solemn affair, a New Orleans funeral celebrates life with music and parading. Our parade will depart from historic Jackson Square and crash joyously through the Big Easy sim four times-- so that Residents in all time zones can participate. We will have an interactive memorial garden and temple, and some great music on the main stage throughout the day.
Parades at 6:00 am, 11:00 am, 5:00 pm, 11:00 pm
Interactive Temple and Memorial Garden: All day
Live Music and DJ's TBA

Secondlife on your mobile phone?

Samsung Electronics has introduced a wireless solution, which can help Samsung phone users receive services from the Second Life virtual world whenever they want to and wherever they are.
The world’s No. 2 handset manufacturer said Wednesday that it will offer demonstrations of the three dimensional world of Second Life through its mobile Softboard applications, in addition to in-home wireless synchronization solutions at the cellular telecommunication industry association (CTIA) annual U.S. wireless trade show in Las Vegas.
`We plan to commercialize phones equipped with the innovative wireless mobile solutions possibly from the second half of this year for U.S. consumers,' a Samsung spokesperson said.
