Interview with Cindy "Zig Zag" Babii of ZZ Studios

One of the more famous (or infamous) characters in online comics is Zig Zag, the owner/star of an “adult” movie studio. Created by Max Blackrabbit, the character was adopted by Eric Scwartz into his popular Internet strip “Sabrina Online” - the title character answers a want-ad for a webmaster and to her surprise finds it’s to a "blue movie" studio, though takes the job despite her embarrassment, leading to a number of misadventures. The comic itself has a PG/PG-13 rating, with no nudity and one swear word in over ten years of online publication.

As it turns out, there is a ZZ Studios here in Second Life. It is located in the southeastern part of the Falcon Valley sim. Besides being a social area, the place makes and sells it’s own “blue movies." I recently had a chance to meet up with owner Cindy Babii, whom is also called Zig Zag here in SL, for a few questions.

First Day
There have been so many things written about Newbie's, and there are so many help tips out there to help make things easier for your Second life. I don't want to do a repeat of what has already been done, but I will probably repeat some of the advice that experienced avatars have given you or will give you. I suppose I will start with giving some personal experience with my first days in this virtual world of Second Life and then I hope to give a weekly update as to what you can do as a newbie..............

If You Build It?
If there is one thing I've learned in my period in Second Life, it's that the saying "If you build it, they will come." is not always as true as it should be.
I'm sure most readers who enjoy exploration will have at some point stumbled across an awesome sim or location, only to find it completely f****** deserted, without even a tumbleweed to grace it's empty streets. (And for those readers who find the word f*** offensive. I would suggest you are perhaps reading the wrong section.) It was at one of these places my first adventure into the world of reporting began, at the Vampire Succubus Club.

Furries and Second Life

Hello and welcome to my first column for the SL Newspaper.
I'm Penny and I'll be writing how-to's and observation pieces.
I've had over a year on Second Life to observe how people interact online, (and have frequently been the brunt of it), so Dana thought a good first article would be a look at how Furries are treated on SL.
Now, being a Neko myself, and having once written for another SL Media outlet that shall remain nameless because of it's nature as a troll breeding ground, I've seen first-hand how a lot of people treat the Furry crowd.
As a neko I'm often mistaken for a furry, and I know how unfathomably nasty some haters can be.
But why?
What is it about Furries in specific that engenders so much hate online?
Why does what is at worst a strange but harmless sexual fetish and at best just a quirky unique form of self-expression merit hatespeech and trolling on par with the grief openly gay people get online?
Now first of all let's be clear, I'm talking purely online issues here, not real life. In real life the worst I've heard happening to Furries is loser teenagers mocking them and egging them at their conventions, nothing like the frequent bashings and murders GLBT folks endure.
But online the hate is equal, and rampant, and so vitriolic it borders on obsession.
So why are Furries hated?
