Chapter 2.1

The last chapter of the Roland's saw the passing of this legacy's founder, Eddie. I kind of feel he died before his time since he went in his eighties and Constance is still going strong in her nineties. It seems how long a sim lives depends on when and if they acheive their LTW. Thanks to all those who voted in the heir poll, it was decided Lyla will carry on the family line.
Lyla knew several boys in high school and she tested the waters with most of them, but none of them could hold a torch to Dexter. He knew exactly what to say to win her over almost instantly. I'm thinking it had something to do with his schmoozer trait, because Lyla isn't exactly the friendliest of people.
Trevor is secretly planning a plot to destroy the neighborhood which involves fireballs. He's tried talking to several different sims about his "masterplan" but the only one who'll listen is his girlfriend, Jackie. Everyone else justs looks at him like he's crazy!
It looks like Lyla is expecting again. Lets hope she doesn't try to ride her bike to the hospital this time when she goes into labor.

Lyla: "Are you still talking about that?"
"Who, me?"
Lyla: "Okay, fine. Perhaps, it wasn't the smartest idea ever, but it was my first pregnancy and I let the hormones get the best of me. Can we just drop it already?"
"As long as you promise to take a cab next time."
Lyla: "I've already promised Dexter I would so everything's good."
Dexter and Lyla's first born, Fawn, is still just a baby. She was born with the loner and clumsy trait. So far her life has been fairly uneventful, but I'm sure that'll change soon.
Whoa! How is that bottle of bubble bath floating in the air? I'll give you one guess.
Yep, it's Eddie and he's up to no good. Napping apparently isn't on the agency tonight. His spirit waundered around the house moving all sorts of objects this time.
He did take a short break from moving objects to check his email? Maybe he's reading a blog or something. I can't imagine too many ghosts get emails still.
Dexter: "I promise I'll teach you to walk just as soon as you're born."
Lyla: "Don't be ridiculous. Fawn doesn't even know how to walk yet."
Dexter: "Oh, right. Well, as long as it's okay with your mommy, I'll teach you how to walk just as soon as you're ready. Mommy, do you approve?"
Lyla: "Dexter, stop being so silly!"
Dexter: "I was just trying to get you to smile and it seems like it worked."
Lyla: "Augh! I can never stay mad at you."
Dexter: "It's called love, babe."
Lyla: "Well, how about you give me a nice little back rub. My whole body feels sore."
Dexter: "Sure thing, my dear. Anything for the one I love."
Lyla: "Alright, that's enough smooth talk for one day."
Dexter: "I have no idea what you're talking about, sweetie."
Lyla: "Uh-huh. I'm on to you, Dexter."
Oh, no! The grim reaper is coming to take Constance. At least she got to see one of her grandchildren before she past away.
Constance certainly lived a difficult life, but she's the one that chose it. Do you remember in the beginning her saying she knew all about what a legacy was and that she wanted to be remembered for something? I bet she didn't really understand what all that would entail. Constance was a fighter though and lived to be 104. That is quite a long life. I'm not sure I'd want to live that long, unless I was super healthy and active which Constance pretty much was. She left behind two children, Lyla and Trevor and one grandchild, Fawn.
For the most part, Dexter and Trevor get along very well. As with most guys they bond over video games. Every now and then they argue because of Trevor's inappropriateness or Dexter's hot-headness, but they always work things out in the end.
Fawn's getting bigger and bigger every day. Dexter's welcomed her toddler years with open arms. He can't wait to teach her new things and play with her. Little does he know how difficult it can be to raise a toddler. I'm sure it won't be long before he realizes all the trouble he's in for.
Like father, like son. Trevor has been working in the criminal field for about a week now and he's already been arrested at work. Geesh! Maybe getting arrested doesn't have a whole lot to do with being a loser like Eddie. I have a feeling the two criminal careers might be hard to top if the sims are always being arrested.
I guess it's that time again. Baby #2 is on its way. Fortunately, Lyla's smart enough this time to call for a cab to pick her up.
Dexter was at work when Trevor called him up and told him Lyla was at the hospital. He didn't want to miss anything so he took off running and didn't stop until he was inside the hospital doors. Has he not heard of a cab either? I guess his work isn't nearly as far as their house is from the hospital though.
After a few hours, Lyla came out holding her new baby boy, Brent. He has the same skin tone as his dad, loves the outdoors and is grumpy. A grumpy baby...that can't be much fun! He'll probably cry all the time. It's a good thing nobody in the house dislikes children.
Oh, Fawn, where are you? Come out, come out, where ever you are. Are you actually playing inside the toy box? Well, be careful. I don't want the chest door closing on your head or you getting trapped in there some how.
Why is it that all sims fall down on the treadmill when they don't have lots of body skills? Wouldn't you think they'd just start off at a slower pace until they were able to build up their skills? Oh my gosh, you know what? The first time I tried using a treadmill, I fell off it too and I wasn't in terrible shape at the time either. I just didn't know how to use it right. Ha! I guess sims falling off makes sense then.
Hmm...what is Trevor doing just standing over Brent, rubbing his hands together like that?
Oh my gosh, he stole candy from him. How mean! This is a special option given to Trevor because he's evil. He's also friendly though so wouldn't it also make sense that he'd give the baby candy and not steal it. It kind of seems like an oxymoron to me.
Well, Brent certainly grew up fast. It seems like just 5 slides ago he was born. LOL! That's probably because he was. Sorry, I apparently got lazy with the picture taking again.
Yep, I definitely missed some pictures. Clearly, Lyla is pregnant again. As she watches over Fawn and Brent she dances to some kid toons on the radio. Lyla hasn't worked in well over a week and as a virtuoso has really been missing music.
Aw, isn't Fawn adorable? She's so happy and content sitting in her crib all alone with nobody to disturb her.
Eventually, Lyla remembers to let Fawn out. Before she sets her down to play with her toys though she makes sure to give her a quick tickle to let her know she's loved. Fawn doesn't need too much attention but every now and then she needs to know at least someone cares.
Since this is now Lyla's third birth I figured I could skip the picture of her and/or Dexter rushing to the hospital. They had another girl. Her name is Fiona and she's a couch potato and a genius. I'm sure she'll learn tons from watching tv when she's old enough. All those fishing, cooking and gardening shows will teach her a lot.
Did I forget to mention Lyla had twins? I was actually hoping she would which is why I had her listening to the kids toons the other day. Supposedly, it increases the chance of twins or triplets. Thankfully, she only had two babies. Dexter and Lyla named their third daughter Ginger. She is brave and friendly.
Late that night, after all the kids were in bed, Lyla snuck downstairs for a midnight snack. She was so hungry that she gobbled down all her food before she realized she wasn't alone. She stared in utter amazement at the ghost like figure of her dad. I'm not actually sure if she even saw him though, because at no point did she get scared and jump. She was in such a poor mood that I couldn't get her to talk to him either. Hopefully, next time they will chat.
All the kids were still sleeping the next morning when Lyla woke up except Brent. She relished in the few minutes she had alone with him because she knew it wouldn't be long before all the girls were awake and needing something.
I'm not sure what it was but Dexter grabbed one of the infants and watched tv with it in his arms on two different occasions. It was as if he wanted to help Lyla out but couldn't miss his favorite tv show.
Trevor: "Dude, what is your problem?"
Dexter: "I had a bad day at work and the last thing I need to come home to is your ramblings about a masterplan to destroy the neighborhood."
Trevor: "What? You don't like my plan?"
Dexter: "Not if it involves my family dying."
Trevor: "You don't really think I'd let any harm come to them, do you? They're my family too!"
Dexter: "Sometimes I really wonder..."
In an effort to calm his nerves, Dexter went around picking up all the kids toys. I couldn't believe how many there were just lying around. I'm surprised nobody had tripped over one and hurt themselves.
Dexter was still on edge after picking up the toys so he headed downstairs to play some video games. It was there he found Eddie's spirit. I'm not sure how it all unfolded, but they were actually having a conversation while playing video games together. I could see Dexter's relationship panel with Eddie's ghost increasing.
Doesn't Trevor look so happy to see Jackie? I've been trying to remember to invite her over for awhile now. The few times I remembered she was busy with something else but this time she accepted the invitation. They look so good together!
Lyla was going to return to work soon and needed some practice on her guitar. So while Lyla practiced, Trevor and Jackie got down with their bad selves. Trevor wanted some alone time with Jackie though so after a few songs they headed off to the side of the house.
It had been awhile since Trevor had seen Jackie but his feelings were as strong as ever for her. He was sure he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her so he took a giant leap and proposed to her. She looked so excited when she saw the ring, he was sure she was going to accept.
Then, the look on her face changed as she looked into his eyes. He was heart broken. She didn't have to say anything to him. He knew her answer was no and he didn't care why. He turned around and walked into the house before she had a chance to explain.
Later that night, Fawn celebrated another birthday. I rolled to see which trait of Eddie's that she would inherit. As a kid Fawn is a mean spirited, clumsy, loner. I'm not so sure she'll be making any friends in grade school.
It doesn't look like Trevor's making any friends at work either. I can't blame him. I wouldn't want to look like my co-workers either!
Fawn does not seem impressed or even scared by her grandmother's spirit. If that was me I would have ran in the other direction, especially at that age. Instead, Fawn picks a fight with her. Poor Constance, she'll never escape this family's meanness.
After Constance's ghost disappered, Fawn went to feed her daddy's fishies. Everyone in the house takes turns making sure they're feed every day. It would be a tragedy if any of them died! I cannot let that happen.
The twins have grown into toddlers. Here is Ginger growing up. I think her t-shirt is super cute.
And here is Fiona growing up. I wonder if as a genius she'll learn her toddler skills quicker. One can always hope!
"Oh my gosh, Dexter! Are you actually sleeping?"
Dexter: "I'm exhausted!"
"What happened to your needs never decrease glitch?"
Dexter: "Try having four children and tell me you're not tired."

I'm not sure what broke the glitch but Dexter needs are increasing and decreasing like any normal sims would. Maybe his transition from young adulthood to adulthood did the trick. I really liked that glitch too...
The ghost hauntings never seem to stop in the house. It seems like Eddie and Constance are out and about every single night. I haven't seen them actually scare any of the sims in the house though, so that's nice.

This is where I will end this chapter. Will Lyla and Dexter have more children? Can Dexter ever catch 13 perfect fish? Are Trevor and Jackie over? What family trait will Brent, Ginger and Fiona get? Tune in next time to find out.
This is the sim self home of a girl I work with. I sent Dexter over to their place to see if they had any kids yet. It looks like they do.
At first, I thought there was one girl and one boy, but they're both actually girls. The bald head confused me. In the next chapter one of them comes out with Brent after school. Do I see an early romance in the air? Maybe not quite yet since they're still in diapers at the moment. They're bound to grow up eventually though!
